Yes, thanks to the developers behind PSGroove and PSFreedom, the PS3 Jailbreak now works on a lot of different hardware that you might have, so no need to purchase extra equipment soon!
Most of the implementations is quite complicated as of yet, for example the Android one currently requires you to load a separate boot image that breaks some functionality of the device when running it. Nothing permanent though, and device specific versions should be out quite soon that works for anyone.
